(Washington – Aafaq) - On Thursday, 12 members of the United States Senate demanded that the Secretary of State, Condolezza Rice, close the Saudi Islamic Academy in Washington because of the refusal of the Saudi officials to make available for inspection the curricula that are taught in the Academy. [Full Story in Arabic]

The Saudi News Agency (WASM) said that members of the Senate demanded that the Department of State follow up on the agreement that the United States and the government of Saudi Arabia made last year on improving the freedom of religion in Saudi Arabia and stopping the export of religious extremism.

The director of the Saudi Academy, Abdullah Al-Shabnan, held a press conference on Thursday, in which he denied the use of Saudi curricula in the school and also pointed out the curricula used do not contain any enmity toward other religions or sects.

The Saudi Academy refuses to make its curricula available for inspection to the American government or to the news media.

It may be mentioned that the Institute for Gulf Affairs Washington issued a lengthy report last year, in cooperation with Freedom House.  The report received worldwide attention, because it showed that the curricula used in schools in Saudi Arabia are still filled with extremism, intolerance toward of other religions, and the incitement of hatred and violence toward other religions and cultures, despite claims of the Saudi government to the contrary.

who wants to outlaw and ban Islam in the west? I do. we didn't respect japanese Shinto religion in WW2. We crushed it until their people realized that it was either major reformation/abandonment of classical shinto, or a very real threat of nuclear apocalypse onto Japan for it's attempt at similar holocausts on us. Ditto. While i'd like to think this can be resolved peacefully, AS A LAST RESORT, better them than us. they do not appreciate mercy and would never return it, so why give it.

The Saudis are a tribal society, with no understanding of reciprocal rights. If you are a member of one tribe, you are fair game for others. In a desert peninsula, with not one permanent stream, and very little except the relatively recently (20th century, mid to late) oil development, as natural resources, what kind of society would develop? They raised camels, goats, horses, as nomads, fished on the coast; after 632, some hostels developed in mecca, medina; and then another big occupation was robbing one another. Blood feuds are a big thing with them. It's basically a pre-civilized society. We need energy sufficiency to choke off their funds. For awhile, they blew it all on gold palaces; now they are polluting our society with their uncivilized barbarism. Talk about their vaunted Bedouin "hospitality". They come here by the grace of our generosity, and shamelessly abuse our hospitality to them; talk about "honor"; they have none. The reason they treat women like dirt is they can't trust each other to respect marriage.

I'm with you Tiger. I think we're our own worst enemy sometimes. I'm just sick and tired of Oprah Winfry and her relativeism. I remember after 9/11 how she was fawning over these mooslims who never once even condemned that horrific day. If they can't assimilate to the American way of life, then leave!

Unless the West relinquishes the ignorance of political correctness, such as pandering to fanatical Muslim thought so as not to "offend them", the war on terror will be a lost cause. It is quite obvious that the enemies of the West are now finding breeding ground within the borders of these nations. While Mosques are being errected in record numbers throughout the West, and the venemous hatred of non-Muslims with it, the Muslim nation of Saudi Arabia that funds these Islamic societies will not allow any other religion to establish it's self within their "Kingdom". Pure hypocrisy on the part of Islam, and pure stupidity on the part of the West.

In Saudi Arabia if a person converts to Christianity you get the death penalty. In numerous other muslim countries it is the same way. ahhhhh!!!!!!! the religion of peace George Bush! Name one country of Christian origin that has a policy like these muslim countries. You can't in the last four hundred years. Get out of the 5th century BC!!

Are Americans alowed to open Christian schools in Saudi Arabia? Can Jesus Christ be taught to Muslims? The answer to these questions is no! If we allow a school to teach hatred in our own country we might as well just lie down and die.
